My 'winter work' is a continuation of an ancient folk art tradition that is practiced throughout the world. Paper cutting allows me to combine my innate love of repeated pattern and intricate work with my passion for nature and gardening. My first paper cuts were similar to traditional paper snowflakes, with the exception that all of the shapes within the designs were interlocking images of insects, animals and trees. They have evolved to embrace less complex forms but are now utilized in a wide variety of mediums. The inclusion of all of nature as a whole and the importance of community is a concept that I strive to incorporate into all my work.
We are all at our best when connected to the rest!
